BEST PLACE TO LAY DOWN YOUR TOWEL Park near the Tybee Beach Beach and Pavilion ( Tybrisa St, Tybee Island, GA 31328) use the bridge  in front of the Tybee Island Marine Center  turn right and walk towards the rock formation close to the sand dunes. This portion of the beach has a smoother sand, lots of shallow areas that are perfect for little kids to bathe safely, is less crowded, and because it's close to the sand dunes you will see a large variety of seaside birds.

Atlanta Track Club Kilometer Kids Fall Events You Don't Want To Miss


Join the Atlanta Track Club and members of its youth running program, Kilometer Kids, for a free fun run. The events are are is approximately one mile, and a fun way to get kids active and fit. The course includes a mixture of grass and trails. This event is open to all children ages 7-14. Registration is available online through 11:59 p.m. Tuesday, September 23, and event day registration is available at the event beginning at 4:15 pm. A waiver must be completed and signed prior to the event. 


Online registration is available at atlantatrackclub.org, and there will also be onsite registration the day of the events. Here is the fall schedule:


·         Wednesday, September 24 at 5:15 p.m. – Grant Park, Recreation Center off Sydney Street & Park Ave
·         Wednesday, October 8 at 5:30 p.m. – Grant Park, Boulevard & Confederate Ave intersection
·         Wednesday, October 22 at 5:30 p.m. – Tribble Mill Park in Lawrenceville
·         Wednesday, November 5 at 5:30 p.m. – Grant Park, Boulevard & Confederate Ave intersection

Race Day Information For September 24th Event

Join the Atlanta Track Club and members of its youth running program, Kilometer Kids, for a free fun run at the Grant Park Recreation Center on Wednesday, September 24 at 5:15 p.m. This event is approximately one mile, and a fun way to get kids active and fit. The course includes a mixture of grass and trails. PLEASE NOTE: The event will take place at the Grant Park Recreation Center, 537 Park Avenue SE, Atlanta 30315.

PARKING: Parking for all individual vehicles and buses/vans is on the street along Park Avenue or adjacent side streets between Sydney and Byrne Streets. There is VERY limited parking at the Recreation Center entrance off of Park Avenue.

Directions: From Atlanta, take I-20 east to the Boulevard exit. Turn right onto Boulevard, then take the first right onto Sydney St. SE.

Kilometer Kids is the youth running program of the AtlantaTrack Club, the second largest running organization in the United States and organizer of the AJC Peachtree Road Race. The program launched in 2007 with one location serving 38 kids. Today, Kilometer Kids impacts more than 3,000 kids in communities throughout the Atlanta region and beyond. It is funded by partners, private donations and Atlanta Track Club. Kilometer Kids seeks to create lifelong healthy habits in children, instilling in participants the importance of an active lifestyle. Through the program, kids learn that exercise is a fun and rewarding activity, opening the door for physical activity to become a lifelong habit.
